ScotRail Ticket Examiners to take further action after reballot in fight for pay equality and justice.
RAIL UNION RMT said that Scotrail Ticket Examiners who have been engaged in a six month fight for pay justice and equality will be adding further strikes after a massive 90% vote to continue their action in a reballot.
Following yesterday's ballot result RMT's National Executive Committee has now considered the matter and has taken the decision to call on all Abellio Scotrail Ticket Examiner members to take further industrial action and not to book on for any shifts that commence between:
00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 10th October 2021
00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 17th October 2021
00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 24th October 2021
00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 31st October 2021
Existing strike action called for Sunday 26th September and Sunday 3rd October 2021 remains in place.
Additionally Abellio Scotrail Ticket Examiner members have been instructed not to work any Rest Days or undertake any Higher Grade Duties remains in place until further notice.
RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch said:
"After yesterday's stunning result we have no option but to continue with the rolling programme of action to try and force those calling the shots to take the issues at the heart of this dispute seriously.
"Our campaign of action continues this Sunday on both fronts and it is now down to Scotrail and their political masters to take their staff seriously, show some respect and stop snubbing talks and to get round the table with the union to negotiate a fair and just settlement. "
