5th June 2014

Dear Colleague

SUSPENSION FROM DUTY, S. UPTON, LONGSIGHT DEPOT – VOITH (VIRGIN WEST COAST CONTRACT)

Further to my letter dated the 29th May 2014 with regards to the above matter, first and foremost I would like to congratulate all our affected members for returning a magnificent result in the ballot for industrial action. Your union’s Executive Committee has now had the opportunity to consider the superb vote that our members returned in favour of taking industrial action and has taken the decision to call on all our Voith members located at Longsight Depot to take strike action as listed below:

All Voith members located at Longsight Traincare Depot are instructed NOT to book on for any shifts that commence between:

•    19.00 hours on Thursday 12th June 2014 until 18.59 hours on Friday 13th June 2014

I urge you to continue your support for your union and solidarity with your colleague in this dispute. We must send management a clear message that their treatment of your Union Representative, Simon Upton is totally unacceptable. I have informed the company that we remain available for talks and I hope that management will see sense and take the necessary steps to resolve this dispute.

SUPPORT YOUR UNION
SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION
REINSTATE SIMON UPTON

Best wishes.

Mick Cash
Acting General Secretary
