USE OF FINGERPRINTING MACHINES TO BOOK ON – ISS (LUL)

RMT

TO ALL RMT MEMBERS AT ISS LONDON UNDERGROUND

Our Ref: LUL/27/2
17th June 2014

Dear Colleagues

USE OF FINGERPRINTING MACHINES TO BOOK ON – ISS (LUL CONTRACT)

Further to previous correspondence on the above matter, I can report that talks have been on-going between RMT and ISS management in an effort to resolve the situation.

I can confirm that as a result of these talks members will be able to book on in the normal way until Monday 23rd June 2014. Furthermore, all members who were prevented from working on 16th June 2014 will be paid.

However, no agreement has been reached on the use of the fingerprinting technology and the company have not retracted their threat to send workers home if they do not use the biometric booking on system after 23rd June 2014.

Talks with the company are continuing and hopefully an agreement can be reached. In the meantime, you are still instructed NOT to use any biometric machines (i.e. continue to use the sign in sheets at your depot or station and book in with ISS using the “Autophone”).

I will, of course, keep you fully advised on any further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
Acting General Secretary
