Virgin West Coast DHL contract strike action suspended

29 January 2019

RMT Press Office:

RAIL UNION RMT has confirmed that strike action by staff on the Virgin West Coast Mainline DHL logistics contract due to start tomorrow evening has been suspended.

As a result of hard work by RMT reps, backed by solid support from members in the workplace, significant progress has been made in talks with DHL and an improved offer from the company has been tabled.

The union’s National Executive Committee will now hold a referendum of members over the details of the company’s revised proposals.

Consequently, RMT’s National Executive Committee has decided to suspend the industrial action to allow the referendum to take place.

Therefore the strike action which was due to start at 21:59 hours on Wednesday 30th January 2019 has been suspended and members have been instructed to work as normal on Wednesday 30th January 2019, Thursday 31st January 2019 and Friday 1st February 2019.
