Growth and Infrastructure Bill – workplace rights petition

As you may be aware, last month George Osborne proposed the Government's 'Shares for Rights' plan which would allow small and medium sized businesses to ask new employees to give up some of their vital rights at work in exchange for shares in the business.

The Tory Lib Dem coalition is now rushing this through in the Growth and Infrastructure Bill which is currently in its Committee Stages in the Commons. The Labour Front Bench are expected to fully oppose the Government's plan and Shadow Employment Minister Ian Murray MP will, next Tuesday 4th December, present a petition to Downing Street on behalf of Unions Together.
